Some underwater footage of the Manson Supreme Anchor's instant setting nature. In a firm sand bottom the anchor digs in very quickly each set, even when facing backwards. Notice even with a very short scope and chain not on the seabed, the anchor still manages to set very quickly.

  • Hi there Telstar, thanks for the comment. The natural balance of the anchor means that the shackle will slide back to the end of the shank and reset very quickly. Any anchor can pull out of the ground when you have a reversal of wind, however the Supreme's instant setting means it digs straight back in. If you have any doubt it pays to test this before using the slot, there are thousands that happily use it full time. However if you are still unconvinced then use the regular slot. Easy options

  • Great video! What is the long slot machined into the top of the shank used for? Recovering a stuck anchor? If the shackle ends up near the plow (at the moment the anchor hits bottom) will it fix its self and set correctly?

Hi there. Yes the long slot is to enable a user to drive forward over the anchor, and pull the anchor from the front to retrieve from foul ground. This option removes the need for a buoyed retrieval line. The weighting of the anchor always ensures that the shackle returns to the end of the shank for resetting.

  • Ah ccccuuuuuhhhhh, ssssss, aaaaahhhhh cuuuuuuhhhhh. Luke I am your father! Ah cuuuuuhhhh ssss, aaaahhhh......

  • Is that what we call a CQR anchor ?

  • Just curious, If you're using the rock slot, how does the anchor know that you've intentionally moved the shackle down the anchor shank to retrieve it and that it wasn't the wind/current reversing 180˚ instead? Oh, yeah, it doesn't.... so the anchor would unset and drag...with little chance of resetting quickly... that's smart.

  • Thanks for the Video... Can you also take another video with the same anchor, but next time in a heavy rock bottom and/or pebble/cobble rocks? Then show how the anchor slot on top works by Reversing the boat?
