  • yes.

we made it on our high school

  • magnets are not a type of rock you idiot,,,,

  • honestly, i don't think you need a superconducting material to levitate somthing that small, probably just some powerful electromagnets and permanent magnets within the train

  • @Kris999x -lodestone or loadstone is a naturally magnetized piece of the mineral magnetite. i'm sure you already know this by now.

  • Cool! How big/strong are the magnets? They are very far apart, impressive. See another video of such a pinned levitating train here: moebius dot youtube dot mosem dot eu ;-)

  • that would be a bumpy train ride!

  • AWESOME! I wish more places and people did great stuff like this in high school! I bet you learned a lot and had a lot of fun!

  • @adrydn2 Sequenced magnetization of the copper wound coils. as one coil becomes North polarized, the coil next to it becomes South polarized, one attracts the other repells. The train itself probably has 3 magnets inside of it, NSN or SNS to create an imbalance with the magnetised coils, therefore never coming to a standstill.

  • @almostnuclearwar

Earnshaw's theorem proves that using only static ferromagnetism it is impossible to stably levitate against gravity, but servomechanisms, the use of diamagnetic materials, superconduction, or systems involving eddy currents permit this to occur.

  • Tem buraco até no Maglev brasileiro, hauhauhauaauh

  • Also, that's a pretty sweet science fair project. Looks like you'll make a fine engineer!
