No Contest: Autism and the Culture War

Autism is not a war to be fought between the "curbies" and the "neurodiverse". Treatment; methods, to seek or not-NOBODY SHOULD HAVE TO FEEL DISCRIMINATED AGAINST, bullied on social networking sites that advocate "support" for autistics because their view is among the majority. American society is moving from freedom of choice to freedom from choice. No one person on the spectrum is the "face" or "voice" of autism. All of us on the spectrum are the faces and voices. Diversity is what makes for equality and should not be confused with suffering. If we scream over the top of one another, how will the next generation hear us?
