  • nice job, i was just wondering , does the cutting tool do all the porting procedure or do you have to do some manual porting to take care of details after its finished? chears, keep up the good work

  • @panoulis20 Hey mate sepending on the type of head & the budget depends on the amount of hand finishing after wards, most normal stuff has about 20 minutes around the seat area.

The big time ones have several hours hand finishing the seat area for perfect control of the air & fuel as it enters the chamber.

  • nice man. im wantin to put ported heads on my ls1. but how bad is the gas mileage?

  • @80Ls1TA Its only as bad as the amount of throttle you use.

On normal driving you can use less fuel but when you open it up it will use more.

  • You boys are going well. have you got a program for racer pro heads?

  • Hey mate thanks for the comments, yes we do have 3 programs for ther racer pro heads, 23* std port, 23* high port, & 15* high port.

That pretty much covers the normal deals for drag & street car racing.

If you need to know anything else dont hesitate to give us a call

  • What 5 axis are you using?

  • @lobzdik sometimes its cheaper to work what you have for each intended use. and yes the aftermarket does have as-cast ports or if you want they can cnc port work the heads. thats what they do any way, cnc port as-cast heads, its easier and less expsensive.

  • Just awesome... I'm jealous.

  • @masterz28 hey mate approx 1.400in wide & 2.2in high with a 5/8 radius in the corners

  • @lobzdik Hey mate no probs with the questions at all. The reason for not making a port the EXACT shape is due to the main reason being ..... WHAT IS THE EXACT SHAPE......

To me its the way i do it & to others it is a totally different way, hence we all do it our own way.

If they made heads the way they think they should be then it might not suit everybody, so they make them work in a std form & then we all do our little bit.

    hope that helps

  • Hey im very curious as to the American practice of porting cylinder heads, one thing confuses me most however - why not just manufacture heads with ports in an optimal position? why at least don't the aftermarket heads come ported in the way that you would want? Or they do, but it's cheaper to get the stock heads worked on? Thank you for your answer in advance
