  • @monorailred1 Sorry, but Nelson Riddle wrote the theme to "Route 66", and IMO, it is the BEST TV theme EVER------and George Maharis was soooooooo nice to look at!

  • I love this show, it still gives me a yearning to "take off" and do the adventure driving around the country. Unfortunately, the country isn't very nice anymore and it probably wouldn't be safe for a woman. M fav eposides are "The Cruelist Sea Of All" and "But What Do YouDo In March". I love the theme fron Mancini and the spirit of the piece. Oh to live that way for just a little while.

  • As a young kid Route 66 gave me the sense that real freedom and adventure was possible and here were these two cool guys in a Corvette actually doing it. It inspired amongst a plethera of TV shows that only encouraged mindless and soulless conformity. I love it to this day!!!
