I have conducted experiments on a 1984 Mercedes 300D turbo diesel, to see if the "vegetable oil" claims were true. Here are the results of the experiments.

  • QUICK START?! are you trying to blow the thing up to where it really wont start?

  • @Cocoflava I used quick start for only a few days, then I put in new glow plugs, and it started fine.

  • fuck man just fix your vacume lines on the car. Ill tell you a horrible story about my sistuation. I drove my Mercedes Benz 300TD 1982 from Philadephia Pa, To RIO BRAZIL and when I was driving threw central America I lost Vacume in a broken line so I had to pop my hood to shut the engine off every time one time i did not latch it down corectly and the hood came flying up on me and smashed my windshield causing me to hit a curb and flip the car luckly i survived and was able to get the car fix

  • @aaronpourazar Hey, in the extreme cold, you still may need to still use a preheater. I have only been as cold as 16 degrees Farenheit, so beyond that I cannot tell you for sure what to do.

  • Hi. For all the Pessimist: you can´t kill a old-mercedes diesel with veggie oil..and the 300 still works with everything... ;) with veggie oil it runs a little better, no joke.but don´t use if it is too cold outside, its to thick....good video, and greetings from germany

  • Didn't read the comments did you? The knock is highly amplified by my camera, and was present long before the car was running on cooking oil. If you were to do an experiment like this (which all you have done is record video games), would yo use a new Mercedes, or an old one? I decided to try this experiment on a car that runs, but not a big sacrifice if it blew up. I fixed the knock a year ago, and the car is still in service.

  • I dump soy oil in this car, cut with dino diesel and get 26-30 miles per gallon out of it. Great car and last a long time. Fill it with guns, and trained personnel and you are ready for a trip to the Middle East.

  • This works in the 5.7 liter diesel too, just tried it!

  • mixed with diesel you can drive any old diesel from VW, Volvo or mercedes with veggie oil. 50:50 will work till -5°C tested in VW Passat 1,6TD and Volvo 940 TDIC by me

  • Vegetable oil cost more then diesel

  • the beginning reminded me of law and order.
