THIS ONLY WORKS FOR PREVIOUSLY ROOTED PHONES!!!, you cannot root a 2.3 device yet that has bootloader 2.16 as it isn't unlocked. The only reason this worked for him is because he was previously rooted and had s-off. If you have s-off then you can do it, if not you are out of luck until devs find a workaround.
Thumbs up so people don't wipe their phone, pl0x!

I can't fathom how cool you must be. You probably have 15-20 people in your entourage at all times just lapping up the cool that drips off of you. Don't forget to remove that butt plug before trying to hit on the boys though.

Lol cut off half of the phone.
Ok, I am running Android 2.3.3 now after I had to unroot my phone to take to Sprint. I ran a program to switch the S:ON, then reflashed the factory image. The Sprint store of course update my phone while it was there and now I have 2.3.3. I have looked and looked and keep seeing that Gingerbread can not be rooted. I am sick right now. I miss my super phone and want it back. Tried to roll back to 2.2 and have not yet been successful. Any suggestions?

@MERGATROYDER This only works on S-OFF, only on people who have rooted previously then unrooted, not for S-ON!
