Rock Band - Vasoline with Real Drums

First of all, I am not a drummer. I have never taken lessons, and I don't play in a band.

What I've done is set up Rock Band on my Xbox 360 in front of a friend's drum kit, and played along with the game, but using real drums.

This is my third time doing this, so I literally have about 6 hours of practice behind me on this video.

Since you can't see the screen in the video, I added it in the top left corner. If you're wondering why it's in front of my face, there was a cymbal there anyways that kinda blocked it. I just put the chart over the cymbal.

The notes translate as follows:

Red = Snare drum
Yellow = Hi-Hats
Blue = Ride cymbal
Green = Crash cymbal

For this song, they really never change, so it's easy to follow.

Nice job man. I'm actually the same way. I've been playing Rock Band for roughly half a year and when I went to play my cousin's drums recently (played Inside the Fire) they could never figure out how I was able to play drums when I didn't have a set xD

Unfortunately I'm on a student budget and living in an apartment. Once I finish my degree and get a house of my own, a drum kit is one of the first things on my list though!

@Bronzdog because he's not using the rockband pads dumbass, you have to use the pad and hit it at the right time in order to get points for the notes, he's using a real kit instead. Don't call people retarded when ur the one who is NOT understanding what's happening in the video

if they make another rockband they should make it more like a real drum set with the symbols out hovering on top. and the song itself in the game should be more like the way the artists actually play it.

The chart itself though it undercharted, the red interlude from hi-hat to ride and back should be red/yellow, since they're flams (and yes, RB does do r/y for most other flams). The ride also sounds like it should be faster, but that may just be the ring I hear in the studio recording.

But hey, that's Harmonix's problem; nice cover.
