@WoodstaS "It seems some people think they know better than 'everyone else' and feel the need to force their values on society."
Yep - always been the way. The trouble now is the sheer EXTENT of it, and the ease & speed with which it's being done. "Thank" computer modelling and digitization for that, which have given long-yearned control possibilities to those with the "power"... and aren't they just using them to the max.
Ya think it's bad now....

@makmegs With traffic now travelling on roads with speed limits HALVED from a few years ago (as is the case on many UK roads), and traffic lights everywhere/traffic lights replacing roundabouts/narrowing/chicanes
/lanes blocked & closed etc., then sticking to "rules" means maximum potential progress is not even half the rate it was before. There is bad driving I agree, due in part to the fact that people are now half-asleep in this "slo-mo replay" form of "travel".
All helps fuel sales.

@CodeTwo2 No mate, its bad drivers who are slowing down the progress. If everyone drove with common sense and stuck to road rules properly this wouldn't happen...

ist das in der schweiz?

@CodeTwo2 It seems some people think they know better than 'everyone else' and feel the need to force their values on society. It's a side effect of being human, unfortunately. Couple this with a steady decline in morality (not just of those in power, but of everyone), and the trend I forecast is more of the same.
Fight the trend. Love one another.

I'll buy this car my grandfather whose has 90 years old... It was a bad idea for install this to Mercedes.
-
Which Idiot installed this thing in a Mercedes?

This obsession with slavishly adhering to stupid speed limits more suitable for shopping trolleys, has gone too far.
With each passing year, travel times are getting longer and longer, for the first time in a century... all whilst cars are more capable than ever of safer high speed travel. It's deliberate, planned anti-progress. The incessant "squeeze" on life and freedom is ruining EVERYTHING.
