It's excellent music because it's so trashy, you know what I mean. They have like that garage band sound just like a couple people jamming out in a garage somewhere dreaming of playing in front of millions.

It is an electric hollow-body by Kay. Jack got it at a thrift store and doesn't know the exact model or just hasn't said. It is mentioned in quite some detail in the movie It Might Get Loud. The model isn't very important since most hollow bodies are similar.

No in the movie it is explained that he helped a friend move. The friend owned a Thrift Store and let Jack choose something to keep from the store. He chose the guitar.
