Nadurawk Ja Hobz tas-Sema - Dun Karm Psaila - Corpus Christi

Corpus Christi: The Solemn Feast of the Holy Body and Precious Blood of Jesus Christ! This is the Maltese Hymn for this Feast, lyrics by Dun Karm Psaila, the Maltese National Poet, music Mro Guzeppi Caruana. Since 1924, Malta and the Maltese had this wonderful hymn on our lips to sing, on our hearts to love and in our souls to adore with this Mystery of Faith. "Nadurawk Ja Hobz tas-Sema", this hymn's title, in itself explains the whole chant. April 1913: In occasion of a Eucharistic Congress held in Malta, Dun Karm was asked by Mro Guzeppi Caruana to write a hymn for this occasion. This was to be the hymn chanted during mass in many Maltese churches "T'Adoriam Ostia Divina", (Eng. "We Adore You Oh Bread of Heaven"). The hymn was so successful that the bishops attending this congress spread it throughout the world and was translated to various languages.
