im looking to photograph bands in clubs and i dont wanna use the flash..id like to capture the stage lighting that the band has and the performance....any recomendations of what settings on this camera to use??
@NeverOctober Hi, Bands in clubs can be tricky because of the contrast in the shot. I would use the spot metering mode so the camera exposes for the stage lighting and not the darkness around it. You may also need to increase the ISO if you want a fast enough shutter speed to stop the action on stage (some like the blurred motion effect). Set the camera to Av (Aperture Value/Priority) and set it to a wide setting, e.g., 2.8 - 5.6 depending on the lens. Test to see which setting works best.
thank you very much for all your videos, I am a begineer and I have learned a great deal from your videos. could you please tell me what recomposing is, and how to use it.
Hi, thanks for the comment. What I mean by composing an image is framing the picture the way you want in the view finder. Because I keep the focus point in the center position, I'll center that point on my subject, press the shutter button half way, and then with the shutter button pressed half way (keeping the focus locked on the subject) I'll move the camera to frame the picture so the subject is not in the middle. So it's not recomposing as much as it's focusing and then composing the image.
