dude i'm fucking moving to the UK i hate that our money says in god we trust because obviously some of us don't, also i hate that under god is in the pledge.
He then goes on to point out that popular beliefs & opinions, and failings of imagination are irrelevant to scientific theory, and "should not be seen as subversive to the theory." And explains how the eye can evolve.
You should read the book (The Origin of Species) you are (mis-)quoting from.
yeah it was actually in 1954 as a response to the atheistic nature of the ussr in a cold war environment. and i disagree i dont think anyone will notice you omitting two words. when i was in high school i chose to sit down so that my cause could not go unnoticed. for the most part teachers understood my position and accepted my actions. and people who didnt know me would ask why i wasnt standing which give me a chance to give a nice little rant about the subject.
thats a really good idea. i think i'll start crossing out "in god we trust" on my bills too. i've already stopped pledging allegiance to the flag in protest to the inclusion of the term "under god". oh well, i guess america has some good things going for it...hopefully.
