Republican Study Committee Chairman Tom Price (R-GA) offers a conservative response to President Obama's address to a joint session of Congress. Chairman Price highlights the need for an approach that puts more faith in the American people and limits the role of government in American enterprise.

  • Bobby Jindal had good words to say, however he really needs to work on his delivery.... still, the ability to give a speech is probably the least of what i'm looking for in a governmental leader. Bobby Jindal has completely turned around the state of Louisiana since he's been in office, and he is a true conservative.

  • Thanks, and heres to a FISCAL austrian free-market conservative running in 2012!

  • this is how we end up with politicians like Bush and Obama in the position of POTUS, and all of the dribbling idiots currently making our laws who only seem to have their own interests at hand, unless it suddenly becomes "unpopular" to do so... they are by and large whores for their own gain and their own careers, and they are supposed to be public servants, every one from the local policeman to the POTUS.

  • in all honesty, it's time to get rid of the two party system. The D or the R next to a candidates name seems to be the only thing a lot of people pay attention to, and they disregard important things like character, honesty, fiscal responsibility, leadership, executive experience... how in the world did we ever get in to the routine of taking what a politician says as his/her word without having them prove it with action. Our government is out of hand, and has been for decades.

  • sweetheart, i'm not a republican, I'm a libertarian. And sucking on the governments tit is only making things worse. Our government was never intended to intervene in things like the banking system, the free market, or health care, and it has no business in doing it now.

  • I'm very, very glad to have Tom Price as my congressman. Others should be so lucky.

  • After the mortgage crisis (helped by big gov reg) state of social security I don't want the same big gov in charge of my health care. I use to be able to afford own health care. It more than doubled in price b4 being phased out on me. Health care rationing will just be transferred to an all powerful bureaucracy that will encourage euthanasia, like the state of Washington or UK, where doctors are paid to not recommend patients to hospitals. Decades now big gov is pushing everything to the brink.

  • The conservative movement needs some new leaders, who can reestablish core values around which the next generation can rally. Neither Price nor Jindal seem us to the task.

Simple slogans and simplistic solutions (austrian-free market, indeed) won't reverse the credibility lost by 8 years of a failed conservative presidency and 12 years of a failed conservative congress.

  • Ah yes, Republicans aren't principled....like Al Franken who didn't pay his taxes, neither did Hilda Solis, or Tom Daschle, or Nancy Killefer, or Tim Geithner....need I go on? Hypocrites. They want to tax us until we have nothing left, so they can spend, spend, spend and SPEND.... but they don't want to pay for it. Pelosi takes her private jet to Italy, on gas WE PAID FOR
