  • @halloweenrox2 i got one for 100 dollars on ebay (€70)

  • How much is it?

  • They did offer a refund but that was because it was within the 30 day period. After spending money and hours troubleshooting, I really wanted to get it working to justify the effort.

For the price, this thing has some nice use as an internet radio, but I find most of the widgets awful. Haven't gotten a battery for it yet, but glad the option is there.

  • Sounds like you had a much different experience than I. When I first got my Chumby it had a dead pixel. After contacting support, they had me send it back for a full refund on my card which was applied immediately. The cool thing about this was that the new version had a brighter LCD and more accurate touch screen sensitivity. It was also the same price and came with a free t-shirt.

You might want to get a Square Trade Warranty. We got a 3yr for only $20 which covers accidental damage too.

  • Thank you so much responding but after a month I finally have it working. I had to send it back and when it was returned, I was able to easily connect. Despite all their initial instructions, it would not work or install updates, yet once they got it, it somehow magically worked. The folks at Chumby are not at all forthcoming- and do not admit when there is a problem with the device.

I'm glad its working, but this thing is defintely a work in progress.

  • You should ask questions on the forum. There are many helpful people there.

I have been using the original Chumby for over a year now and it works great with both of my routers. I do notice the Chumby's Wi-Fi radio receiver is pretty weak though. You may have to boost your Wi-Fi signal or physically move it closer. Google Wi-Fi boost tons of DIY methods. Good luck.

  • The original Chumby also has a battery compartment! I use it so when the power goes out the Chumby won't turn off or lose any settings.

You can also use this to power the Chumby (at least on the original). I noticed with a rechargeable 9-volt you can get between 20-30 minutes of time with the brightness turned down to the lowest setting. Not a whole lot, but better than nothing.

  • @abluefuzz yes, yes, no, just go look at the website dude

  • You can't really surf the internet with it, but you can connect to things like facebook, and the apps are free.

  • I cannot get this POS chumby one connected to my wifi network and chumby's tech help is useless. If my ipod and laptop have no problem recognizing my router, what's up with chumby?
