Miss Lee Morse was born in Portland, Oregon and became a singing star in the twenties. She also appeared in vaudeville, on Broadway, in films and on the radio. She had a three octave range and yodeled. www.portlandwas.com

  • I love the pearls Lee's wearing at the end, reminds me of Julie Andrews in the movie "Thoroughly Modern Millie".

  • Gee, Erin, I didn't know you were a Lee Morse fan, too!

  • This 1930 film copied much of music/lyrics of Rodgers 1929 Train Whistle Blues. Train W. Blues in turn had copied Lee's 1924 Mail Man Blues lyrics and melody. They lived near each other in Texas in the 30's. Could it be?

  • It's actually not a parody. Moss morese was yodeling like this on her earliest Pathe recordings, some years before jimmie Rogers began his career.

  • This parody of Jimmie Rodgers Blue Yodel is just too great. For years I had her confused with Ella Morse who lived in Ft. Worth area same time as Lee. They also crossed paths in Houston.
