@fbt2007 Ahh, I see, I didn't catch that. Nah, it's fine. Good information actually in case I have to deal with it in the future, and if I'm not wrong, buying it in powder form is cheaper than pre-mixed. I think. Will post my questions onto the listserv soon and I'll see what you guys have to say. =D

Errr, I'm a little confused with the measurements for the kinetin... If you need 247mg of kinetin and you have a 1mg/ml solution, then shouldn't you have to use 247 ml of the solution? Just wanna clarify in case I misunderstood. Erm.. what's the protocol to sterilize it? Btw, sent you a msg on flickr asking a few questions, should I post it on the listserv instead? Sry for being twitchy and excited here, I ordered one of Carol's kit's and she's shipping it over sometime next week. =-D

@AaronKSLee Hi Aaron, I can see why you are confused. I should have just left the whole micromole part out and more importantly I should have said POINT 215mg (0.215mg). I added an annotation where I mention the amount of Kinetine. To make things simple just add 0.5mg/liter of Kinetin.
If you are germinating seeds, no need to add any plant growth regulator in the media. Sugar alone will do the job and most Drosera will grow on 50% MS.

whats the N stand for (1 N KOH) 1M? or 1 mole per litre?
tim0090 3 months ago
@tim0090 I used to us the expression 1 N or 1 Normal, which in the case of potassium hydroxide is the same as 1M or 1 mole/liter, because that's what was given in many published papers and is still how Phytotech lists their product 682. I would be better if I switched to using 1M. Less confusion:-)

Frank you didn't actually show the Drosera being Sterilized is it the same process as the Dionea ? You mentioned this being more sensitive to bleach than what other plant ?
Cheers
Andy

@mackeruk Hi Andy, yeah never made part II of this one.
Drosera are very bleach sensitive. More so than Venus Flytraps or just about any other plant that I have put into tissue culture. It doesn't take much to kill them.
