The Holy Inquisition, credited with preventing bloody religious wars in the nations where it was constituted, in 500 years resulted in about 6,000 executions by government authorities. Yet, what is viciously attacked today, the French Revolution or the Holy Inquisition?

Whenever I hear the tired old "It's religion that causes more death" (I know you didn't say it) it sets me off because not my religion and not the religion of the Vendeen.
