Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of TOWERING INFERNO by US Games for the Atari 2600 VCS video computer system. The 1970's were a great time for disaster movies like Earthquake, Poseidon Adventure, The Swarm, Airport and The Towering Inferno. This game lets you live out the dream of being the hero in a 70's action film by playing as a fireman (played by Steve McQueen in the movie) and saving innocent civilians in a burning skyscraper. Towering inferno was released in the early 80's and is an excellent arcade style retrol old school game on the Atari 2600 console. The gameplay is fast and enjoyable, required skill and a bit of chance. It has flames and helicopters and 9 buildings to save people from. CGRHD highly recommends Towering Inferno! The 1974 movie starring Steve McQueen, Paul Newman and Robert Vaughn, Fred Astaire and Robert Wagner was awesome too. The designers of modern movie themed games and ports on the PS3 and Xbox 360 can learn a lot from TI, because this game is dope. It ain't Backdraft, this is TOWERING INFERNO!!! It burns with aweseomeness! Classic Game Room was the original classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999-2000, now on DVD. The reviews on the HD series are reviewing PS3, PS2, Genesis, NES, Atari and Xbox 360. XBLA. videos review reviews show wii trailer

  • I know I hate being 13 all the kids I know are spoiled by the HD graphics and 720p and all that shit. Old school ftw

  • Great review. Too many people on the net crap on this game. For 2600 standards it's very good. Some are just spoiled I guess.

  • If 20th Century Fox licensed this how come they didn't do the game themselves? They did M.A.S.H. & Aliens, and a few others for the Atari 2600

  • I love your reviews man, but with all due respect I found myself sitting here thinking "For the love of god, get to reviewing the game already... This is however the first video of yours that I have watched that I haven't liked.

  • @3DSStrider

Same here. People make fun of me for liking old games and especially Nintendo games. What they don't realize is that old classic games are fun as hell. They also don't realize that without the old old games there would not be this thing we call call of duty. Sometimes i get really irritated when people tell me this.

  • @TenguGuy I'm also 13, I get picked on for my interest in Nintendo and retro gaming. Most of the kids in my school don't realize that graphics don't make a game good: gameplay does. Old school FTW!

  • This is the great-granddaddy of Burning Rangers! :D

  • @TenguGuy I couldn't agree with you more. I'm 13 as well, and all of the kids in my school are HD freaks. To them, great consoles like the Atari 2600 and the NES are dirt on the bottom of their shoes. They even mock me for my interest in retro gaming.

What they don't realise is that if it wasn't for this 'dirt', hey wouldn't have their stupid shooter games they have today. They also disregard any other game genre (especially RPGs, which I love to bits). They're really close minded.

  • @Sayaannnnn I don't even know what you are trying to say anymore...

  • @IcarusMoonsight

I never said that quality wasn't timeless. I just think that calling people growing up in this generation spoiled for disliking older games.

  • @Sayaannnnn Than what you say doesn't hold. Arcades consistently had better graphics over home systems until Neo Geo (niche penetration) and more commonly since in the mid-late 90's. I don't care for Atari much overall myself, but I do like some of the games (Towering Inferno among them). Mostly because they are still fun to play, despite the outdated tech. Quality is timeless.

  • @IcarusMoonsight

Sorry, many kids play video games. I mean people.
