@LastXdeth Kissinger and Nixon decided to destroy Cambodia because Sihanouk supplied weapons to the NVA by having Sihanouk trail. Cambodia neutrality have been raped by the Communist and the USA.

In the end HM Sihanouk is the one still alive and those who were wicked and traitorous got the fate they deserved. Sihanouk did not ever truly support the KR but was forced too out of necessity. If anything the coup of 1970, helped recruit the peasantry (a majority of the country) to help restore the King. Our national motto of "Nation, Religion, King" describes the Khmer national identity well. All the King wanted was an independent Cambodia; not one strung out like a puppet.

My daddy was in the army! My dad also told me that during the Khmer Republic their was corruption in government. I wouldn't say corrupt but his right-wing Social Republican Party was the majority in govt. Still, Lon Nol was a great figure in Khmer History and he should't be forgotten.

@kralahomkong nope raped by 1 mans wealth sihanuoks! we were neutral and america gave us money not to let NVA through our border to sneak into south vietnam and sihanuok double crossed them and let the NVA do it for money ( my moms uncle opened the the border for the nva he was just a normal soldier n his words where "ah sihanuok cotch" lol lucky he got political asylum in france)

Hey I know what you're feeling and the sympathy you have for the country and the people. Those were the peaceful days that the Khmer had their first taste of FREEDOM. What ever is done is done in the past, however one can only learn from the terrible mistakes that those leaders made. I'm pretty sure those leaders were never meant to lead us in the wrong way however sometime destiny can not be avoided.

@kralahomkong - not only Kissinger and Nixon the whole goddamned USA did that. They tried to destroy Cambodia because NOT Sihanouk supplied weapons to Yeakong but it's because Sihanouk befriended with China and Sihanouk recoginzed China as the main supporter. Sihanouk was the only leader at that time to support China. That's why Chinese gov. always thanks and helps Sihanouk. The true destroyers of Cambodia are France and USA (indirectly thru LON Nol). sihanouk is also at fault.
