Train 1:
Metra F40PH #101, the 'City of Joliet', leads four cars on outbound North Central Service train #107 through Deval, seen here crossing the UP-CP "New Line".

Train 2:
F40PH #175, the 'Village of Worth' pushes 5 cars on an inbound UP-NW Line train across the "New Line" at Deval.

Train 3:
MP36PH-3S #422 pushes 5 cars on inbound NCS train #116.

Train 4:
A loaded northbound Union Pacific coal drag led by AC4400CWs 6504 and 5580 heads for power plants in Wisconsin via the "New Line". AC44 #6693 is the DPU.

Train 5:
F40PH #132, the 'City of Harvard' leads its train, the "Des Plaines Local", an all-stops train from Chicago to Des Plaines, turning near Cumberland, outbound.

Train 6:
As a Canadian National local job waits north of Deval Tower, F40PHs #128 and 157 lead a 9-car express outbound on the UP-NW Line.

Train 7:
CN / IC GP38-2 #9573 brings today's "Wheeling Local" job, with 3 cars, south toward Schiller Park Yard.

Train 8:
The "Des Plaines Local" is back, heading for its first inbound station stop.

Train 9:
CITX (ex-BN) SD40-2 #3026, CP Rail SD40-2 #5908 and Iowa, Chicago & Eastern SD40-2 #6452 lead a lengthy freight, mostly covered hoppers, north on the "New Line", crossing the CN Waukesha Sub.

Train 10:
F40PH #150, the 'Leonard S. Eisenberg', arrives at the Des Plaines station, just southeast of Deval Crossing. It then departs, heading for the McHenry Branch.

Train 11:
A 7-car inbound UP-NW Line local arrives and departs the Des Plaines station, with ex-C&NW / RTA Pullman bi-level coach #7838 in the consist, and F40PH #140 pushing.

Trains 12 & 13:
A six-car outbound train passes through the station on the center track, while a local stops. The express is headed for the McHenry Branch, and the local will terminate at Crystal Lake.

  • How did you get up there. I pass there all the time. and there is no trespassing signs everywhere.
