I was raised in a family of 10 children and none of us nor our children ranging from ago 60 downward have contracted STD's. We grew up through the late 1940's to today. Secret was abstinence. If you never open Pandora's box, you are not lured by the chase of experience.
Oh, yes I and several others did cross the line of pre-marital sex and even then it was with a person we purposed to marry.
BTW, our family (black) grew up in a hood of welfare, gangs and drugs - but most are married and degreed.

wow.. EVERYbody gets HPV?? not true - but at least half of us will according to stats. The vaccine is only for women tho and it won't change anything if you ALREADY have the virus. most of the time our immune systems get rid of many strains of HPV. she doesn't even mention monogamy - CMON!

Why does nobody ever mention fidelity? Even if you screw up and have sex before you get married, go ahead and marry that person, and remain faithful. Two people who only ever have sex with each other can't give each other STD's.

Part of the precautions Vanessa is talking about is getting regular STD and Pap tests. Treating STDs early can prevent infertility and a lifetime of pain. NO ONE says that condoms protect against STDs all the time.

While abstinence is the only 100% effective method for preventing pregnancy and STDs, it is important to understand passing on "good morals" is not going to stop everyone from having premarital sex. Teaching sex as a realistic possibility in every unmarried person's life gives him/she the power to make an educated decision. And it has never seemed to be Planned Parenthood's mission to promote sex, only provide people with all the facts to make their own informed choices about it.

I think this video made clear statements of promoting sex! And anyone watching it won't make informed choices because the information given was inaccurate and false. There are so many excuses around the topic of sex. Practice respect in relationships and self control and you won't need to come up with so many excuses.

Our children will not have STDs if we raise them with a good moral foundation having a strong commitment to chastity (abstinence until marriage is not unheard of), and find a spouse with the same commitment.
