im the 3rd generation down in the brilhart family

Your tone sounds better on the Brilhart, but it sounds like you have more difficulty controlling this mouthpiece, whereas on the Runyon, you sound much more easy in your blowing, but the tone is thinner and not as rich.
The exact same thing happens to me when I go from my Otto Link STM 6* to my Runyon Quantum 6. The Link sounds much richer but is much harder to play for me than the Quantum. But the tone of the Quantum is easy to conttrol, but the sound is not as good, similar to your case.

I like more the sound of the first one amigo... It is like a sound more deep but brilliant at the same time. The second one sounds like begginer tune and you have a better sound tha that!!!

I like the Brilhart. I agree with reedsofsteel gotta go with a Java try the green or red box. Both have a better sound for that type of music. I love the traditional for their smoothness or for p dynamic in classical.
So what are you using now?

the quantum sounds better. it sounds like you are using a vandoren traditional, if so stop. =) if you like vandoren than try the javas, V's, or ZZ's. i do recommend rico jazz select and peter ponzol though. the setup sounds sounds good for the quantum, but the brilhart needs a jazzier reed. vandoren traditionals tend to take the life out of metal mouthpeices. it takes out most of the edge. i have the same problem
I love the Quantum best - the set-up sounds more fluid and it is quite a cool sound, which I like. I have recently acquired a metal Quantum mpc and hope to become the New Taz on The Block. So, watch out, Dude................!

Thanks for the comments folks. I'm still useing vandoran 2.5 at the moments. I'm playing with a Rock 'n' Roll band called Johnny and the Zephyrs now and so the 2.5's work well with the growels that you need for that sort of music. I still love the ballads though.
