i have one of these wind up freeplay chargers and they work very well for charging up devices , and yes its only used for an emergency as you have to crank hard and fast to get the 12 volts that is needed to charge the device

I noticed you showed the winding for a few seconds only and with no sound. I know why; there is no way to wind in a more or less continuous way. I bought one and it's a nice gadget. The winding is EXTREMELY hard though. For an emergency I would recommend the freeplay weza.
