Still don't get the point (are you sure you're talking about first chord?): with the notes you described, the first chord is a Bm7/6 (?)... I'm sure Banks plays B7+, have a look at Hackett's Watcher on YouTube for instance,, the chord is a B7+ (or D#/B if you want, but no minor and no G# note).

for the first WEIRD chord...... use Bm with thumb cover the A note and add Ab note up top

Thanks, but please better explain your suggestion: the first chord is a B7+, I play it as (from lower to upper) B Eb F# Bb, I could play it as Eb F# Bb B, but what about A note? There's no A note, you mean Ab?...
