All I Do Is Think Of You by The Jackson 5

All I Do Is Think Of You was a ballad single released by The Jackson 5 as the b-side to the group's single, "Forever Came Today" on the Motown label in 1975, and was the final charted single the group issued as The Jackson 5 before they left Motown for CBS the following year. It was featured on their final Motown album, Moving Violation.

The song was written by Eddie Holland (formerly of the popular songwriting team of Holland-Dozier-Holland) and Michael Lovesmith. The song, in which some of the lyrics were fit to match lead singer Michael's age at the time of its recording - he was sixteen at the time, talked of a young man's love over a young lady he met at school and how he is thinking of her.

Issued as a b-side to the disco version of The Supremes' "Forever Came Today" on the pop charts, airplay was massive on the urban side that the song was charted also eventually peaking at number fifty on the Billboard Hot Black Singles chart. A few months after this release, the Jackson brothers abruptly left Motown - and the song's co-lead singer Jermaine - and signed with CBS' Philadelphia International record label.

Over the years, the song gained cult status as a ballad favorite for Jackson 5 fans. The song suddenly was revived fifteen years later when the group, Troop, released a cover version as the second single off their Attitude album in 1990. Their version, which included some lyrical changes, was sent to number one on the Billboard Hot R&B singles chart and number forty-seven on the Hot 100[1]. Another cover came 12 years later with "kid singer" Lil' Corey (featuring Michael Jackson) as his 3rd hit failed to hit the charts. Another cover came five years after that with teen group, B5, releasing the song as one of their first singles off their 2005 debut album. Their version, released as "All I Do", also failed to reach the top fifty peaking at number seventy-one. The song has also been sampled by the likes of J Dilla, who used a sample of the song on the album track, "Time - Donut of the Heart", on his critically-acclaimed 2006 album, Donuts. The Roots later used the same track under J Dilla's production for their album track, "Can't Stop This", from their Game Theory.
