Money is a commodity. Like oil or water. And that American dollar, is the best brand there is in the world. Those of us who have it. Can make more of it. By loaning it to those who dont.

Julian Beck, as banker J. J. Johnstone, Miami Vice, Prodigal Son, 1985.
Died of cancer of the stomach, two weeks before the episode aired.

  • I've seen a lot of great actors, but very few people who can act as well as Julian Beck. That guy instantly commands attention in any scene he's in. As far as I'm concerned, the stage and the screen lost an irreplaceable giant when that man passed away.

  • Best episode!

  • I'm sorry but I just couldnt buy him as an evil banker!! He looks like a frail eldery Man who can barely stand up! I was shocked to learn that he was 60 when this was shot, he seriously looks like hes 85!!! Not to be an asshole or anything, but i know he died of cancer, im just wondering did he have cancer when the scene was shot? Again, im not asking this to mock or anything, Simply curious.. But yeah, i just dont buy his act, sorry...

  • Hands down, the best scene of the entire series. Bravo!

  • R.I.P Julian Beck

  • @acrovader I agree!

  • @Allanlegacy43 Do you think all the "Occupy Wall Street" dirtbag protesters know Obama is taking money from Wall Street??? Bunch a fucking hypocrites...

  • @acrovader Listen kid, I deal in facts and what I said is fact, Also who the hell doesn't know Obama is in bed with Wall Street, you need a lesson in the left and right paradigm, both parties are corrupt and controlled by the banks, don't ever roll on me like that again!
