Buddha's Enlightenment

The Buddha's account of his enlightenment as described in Majjhima Nikaya - The Middle-length Discourses number 4: Bhaya-bherava Sutta - Fear & Terror.

I have included some pictures, some of which refers to the clear parallels to modern cosmology like the Big Bounce theory. I think that science may still have to evolve to reach the Buddha's level of insight in some fields.

It might be that there already may be several counter examples to scientism, that states that there is nothing but particles and forces and only one is needed. Science not scientism may be evolving to confirm The Buddha's cosmology, time will tell.

I might add that according to Buddhist cosmology most living beings survive the Big Crunch in a higher dimension called the realm of streaming radiance, which escapes destruction of a Big Crunch. Other beings are transported to other universes if they do not have the merit to reach the realm of streaming radiance.

It may require a so far unsurpassed insight in most humans here on Earth to remember many eons of cosmic contraction and expansion and also describe the burning away of the Earth like in the Sermon of the seven suns 2500 years ago like the Buddha might have done.

Both insights that may be confirmed by science later.

I could however expect that some Buddhists have made the Buddha more perfect than he was.

Why is the no descriptions of more modern science and technology, like cars, airplanes and the internet in Buddhist texts.

Maybe the Buddha could not remember all his previous lives in great detail, because if he could so, could he them not also remember and describe scientific results from previous lives in civilizations on our current level or millions of years ahead of the current human level and have written it down and so advance science and insight a great deal. I know of no reason why not any of such descriptions should not be made.

Buddha may have been one of the greatest teachers on Earth, but we still may need to strive ahead in science and technology to benefit mankind and the more advanced species to come on Earth.

In the near future I think genetic engineering will play an important role and maybe we will expand the lifespan of humans and more advanced species indefinitely until an accident occurs, before one century has passed.
