Here I am in the Statue of Liberty's Crown! I made it!! as you can see I was very excited to be there!

It felt absolutely amazing (an understatement!) to be up there and experience my dream. My favorite place!
I could easily have been up there all day and been quite happy! I was there for at least an hour!

As you see in the video, I was stroking her hair and kissing her
Thats because I love her.

I would have absolutely given anything to get 5 minutes in her Torch, but alas that has been closed for many years (since 1916) and only maintenance crew go up there now to change the bulbs, clean the flame and any other work they do.
It would have I'm sure been an amazing experience to be in her Torch- to be literally held up by her!
I often imagine what it must be like to have been up there or worked there.
I have very recently made contact with a man who looked after her Torch for 27 years, so I hope that he might tell me more about it!

Music - earth angel by the Penguins.. I just altered the lyrics to suit myself! :P

  • did anyone else notice that the time of the video is 9:11 ?

  • @xHerminator Pure coincidence! Its actually the 2nd part of a 2 part video. There is the other part that shows climbing the stairs

  • Aaaaaand she just came.

  • @buz1108 lol

  • Question!! If someone were in the crown on the morning of 9-11, would they have been able to see Flt. 175 fly over and impact the South Tower?

  • People certainly saw it from Liberty Island. There is little chance that the 2nd plane will have been seen from the crown had anybody been inside. There wasn't because it was only 9.30am and they didnt open the crown quite that early on, they were still carrying out their morning checks when the 1st plane hit the towers. The view of Manhatten is only seen from the far left windows in the crown if you lean and peer through those small windows.

  • @Hollywood115F16 @Hollywood115F16 hehe thats cool :D, I have all sorts of liberty stuff, from statues, to books, posters, stamps, postcards, keychains, souvenir stuff, clothes, and even real unusual stuff like a teapot in the shape of the torch flame

I shall say hi to her for you yes! lol

  • Thats great! :-D I've always been a big fan of her too. I still have a poster of the statue on my wall. hehe

Thank you for all the info! I definetly know who to come to with any questions! Next time you visit her, tell her I said hi! ;-)

  • @drummergirll She must have known I was coming and thought 'Oh no, not her AGAIN' hahaha

  • @drummergirll Though from personal experience, its much MORE comfortable when it is not full to capacity- the less people then better! One day when I went it was SO windy, and freezing cold, so hardly anybody turned up, so I got my chance to experience the crown almost by myself, and boy was she rockin and moving around!! It was alot of fun up there that day! She is designed to move about in the wind so nobody was worried, but apparently she hadnt moved around so much all year till then!
