Symply fantastic planes. I like the long "nose" of the 202 (and 205) but also the aggressiv bulky front of the 200. Only the arming was so bad (only 2x12,7), unfortunately for the italian pilots.
But one question: why they are not so much vids of italian fighters? I wont more!

mc200 is not very attractive of a plane but mc202 is sleek and sexy!

If 2:34 is a Hurricane being shot down during the Battle of Britain then it's not by a c200 or c202. The Italian air force only employed cr42's and g50's (- and some bombers) during the BoB ... and they were not successful to say the least
-
these two planes only had 2 machine guns, the Veltro and the Centauro where armed to the bone but there where so few of them made
-
The C200 was structurally good but was stuck with 840hp and 2 synchronised 8mm guns. Not good enough. The Italians got it right when they built the C202 but production numbers were poor. In the run up to the war their pilots had similar ideas to the Japanese pilots. A fighter should be small, light and maneourverable and have an open cockpit. They realised how wrong they were and built the C202 with a closed cockpit, heavy armament and self sealing tanks.

Il macchi MC 202 è secondo me sottovalutato nei giochi d'azione di aerei nella WWII, fortunatamanete fa la sua comparsa in IL 2 sturmovik, ed è il mio caccia preferito!!

Mc 202 era molto migliore del 200!

Yes, they was superiors in performances and speed, but they was build in WOOD and canvas against the aluminium and steel of the opposite. Wonderful and fragile like a violin...
-
From what I read these planes were regarded as superior in performance to the Spitfire, Hurricane, and the P-40. It's only downside was its weak armament as it only (2) Breda-SAFAT 12.7mm Machine Guns and (2) Breda-SAFAT 7.7 mm Machine Guns. If it had 20mm cannons instead it would have been a very deadly and formidable fighter in the wars early stages of the war.

So were they any good? Used on the easter front? and the med?
anyone know what is the plane being attacked?

It's most definitely a Hawker Hurricane; probably from Battle of Britain era Luftwaffe gun camera films.

Uhm, how do you know it? It might have been shot down by a MC-200 or MC-202. I can't be sure of it, but...it's probable. The MC-202s could easily handle Hurricanes while the MC-200 performed well against them.

"Uhm, how do you know it?.."
Do you think this video somehow magically
materialized out of thin air?
I edited the clips and created the
sound from scratch.
I know exactly where the footage
came from and when and where it was filmed.
That's how "Uhm" I know it.

No, not a Hurricane - note the fixed U/C.
Maybe an obsolete type (Greek, ... ?)

WRONG!!!!!
The Hurricane is EXTENDING his undercarriage.
You can see it plain as day, at the beginning of the clip, the gear is RETRACTED.
I know my WWII a/c; you need to learn yours.
