The work done by US Mil, and civies (Ex British Mil) from UK, Napal. The Camp was a RAF station till 1959. The grave yard had been abused by the Iraqi Mil over the years. All ppl done the work in their own time, over 4 months.

  • I worked in Habbaniyah from Sept 07 til Feb 08...visited the cemetary and read some of the names on the headstones. Touching to think that even after so many years, guys of similar age took the time and effort to clean up the area of fellow servicemen from countries involved in war from England,Holland,South Africa and Norway. Thank you from UK.

  • As an Ex Scottish serviceman, it was the least I could do

  • Thx U.S. Mil and to the civies a lovely gesture

  • I was there 06-07. A lot of people might feel solemn when visiting graves, but for me, I felt even more adamant to carry that fight to the enemy's door and live for those who fought for me to do so.

  • Can anyone help at 4.07 they are showing a gravestone, can only just make it out does it say E A SHONE please? If so this was my grandfather. Thank you to all the troops that cleared and tidied the cemetary up. RIP all .

  • As a war grave researcher I would repatriate them all as soon as possible, move them to a place that gives a dam! I was shocked to see such damage and no respect for the dead. I have researched cemeteries in the West Yorkshire area of England, I have found two chaps that could be in that cemetery! They are but names on a family plot.

  • Many thanks for the post and the work carried out. My grandmothers brother PTE Vincent Rogers (Kings own royal regiment) is buried here (Killed may 1941).

Through the CWGC website we found his grave location and can see it at 0:13.

    again many thanks

  • Thankyou

  • Are there any IPA from Dyncorp still there? The accomodation was pretty rough....shame the swimming pool wasn't up and running,as with the cinema and other buildings the Brits had when they were there.

  • Kudos on Memorial Day for this service to the fallen!
