Texas Garand Champion, Distinguished Rifle, 2011 National Vintage Rifle Champion Robert Langham demonstrates proper trigger technique on a Ruger Mk I .22 target pistol shooting a five shot string holding the trigger all the way to the rear until the pistol comes out of recoil, then resetting. The one-handed thumb-up grip is from Bullseye pistol technique.

  • I like the newer versions better, this heel release is not very conveniant.

  • now thats how its sopsed to be done!!! im tired ofseing people in youtube just jerking the triger and even after i tell them not too they still do but they then wonder "why are my shots not even on the fucking papper?"

  • @gunlover19112 Two points left to finish Distinguished Pistol badge. It's shot at 25 and 50 yards.

  • Ruger autoloaders are pretty reliable guns, even the old ones. This one shoots better tahn I can shoot it. I use it for Bullseye pistol competition. It will jam with some ammo, but shoots most OK. I'm using Wold Match Target right now for the consistancy and accuracy. Pistol loves it.

  • or just get the proper grip and let the finger settle out where it is most comfortable.

  • i dunno, i shoot with the pad of my index finger, not the joint. "to each his own" i guess.

  • thats not rob you losers

  • @firebirdude2 Thats correct. Using the "slide stop" (not intended to be a slide release) will wear the contact surface on the bolt and will eventually result in failure of the bolt to lock back after the last shot.

  • Mister "garand champion" isn't even using the target grip thumb rest...and wrong trigger finger position. /fail

  • For the record, you're not suppose to use that as a slide release. The manual says to use the "slingshot method" to chamber your rounds.

  • oldschool ruger

  • looks like an ugly version of a P04/08 Luger.

  • i like those grips

  • Thumb should not be pointing up, trigger finger should not be pressing with the pad (7 pm pull). Amateur at best
