Gibbs: Rush Ought To Be "On Thin Ice" For Nazi Comparisons

When asked what President Obama thinks about some of the "Nazi imagery" being bandied about by Rush Limbaugh and others against the President's health care plan, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs says he believes the President believes in talking about the issues without "personally maligning" anybody.

With regards specifically to critics comparing Obama and his plans to Nazi Germany, Gibbs says: "I think anytime you make references to what happened in Germany in the '30's and '40's... I think you're talking about an event that has no equivalent... and I think anytime anyone ventures to compare anything to that... they're on thin ice."

"The best thing to do," he closes, "is to take that temperature down a bit."

That had nothing to do with what this video or my reply is about. This is about racist teabaggers who compare Obama to Hitler. When it's the opposite if anything, Hitler came to power through the kind of hatred, fear and ignorance that the tea party is based on, but I wouldn't expect a teabagger to be THAT well versed in European History, among other things.
