am i the only one obsessed with the way they all loo up like that in the beginning in succession .... too cute >.<... all of them esp flea with his little shivers hehe... i bet that man isn't used to the cold at all ... spends most of the time naked so it must have been quite an adjustment for him in this film XD... i didn't even know if he owned a coat ... never seen him in one before this film .. x)

@anakinskywalker831 there might be a few maggots left and some bodily juices in the bottom of the casket but i don't reckon he'd be looking to good at this moment in time.

Rent a flat above a shop,
cut your hair and get a job.
Smoke some fags and play some pool,
pretend you never went to school.
But still you'll never get it right,
cos when you're laid in bed at night,
watching roaches climb the wall,
if you call your Dad he could stop it all.

orgy on the casket. brilliant

@fractalchez I kind of agree with you.He could have looked back to say goodbye. He could have payed his respect to Bob and the people who were his friends. But instead he represents the belief that money changes you.And I've seen it happen to a lot of people. He was still looking at the other funeral, not at his own father's,but there was so much cold in his eyes.He has accepted his faith and moves on.They on the other hand cannot move on,raging together as one. It's a movie bout people's choices.

@sleepersgurl Wow, I really gotta disagree. His character never wanted to be on the streets. He told Bob repeatedly that once he was gone he wasn't looking back, and he kept his word. That doesn't make him right or wrong. He and River's characters I thought were tragic figures: each on their own path that, even though they clearly felt some kind of love for each other, couldn't cross forever. I didn't feel there were any good guys or bad guys in this film.

Gus Van Sant loves Shakespeare and I think the scene in the restaurant is an homage to Chimes At Midnight (Falstaff) by Orson Welles (here on youtube part 10).

The street kids funeral is so awsome in this twisted little way...and River is really pretty in that scene.
