How To: Add YouTube Audio to iTunes (Mac)

Hey everyone!
In this tutorial I'll be showing you how to download and extract audio from a YouTube video and how to put it into iTunes! This is really handy if there's a certain song out there that you really want on your iPod or iPhone, and you need to get it fast and you have no iTunes credit. Obviously you won't be downloading albums upon albums using this method, but it is very handy!
Remember to chose a video with good quality audio!

@monicamank Hey man! Sorry I haven't replied... I had someone Email me with a similar problem. This method no longer works for me either. You can copy and paste the URL directly into Mpeg Streamclip.. Makes it easier :)

@2feelalive I had the same problem but then, Instead of doing the first step, go to the Youtube video and copy its URL then go to keep-tube thenpaste the url and then download it onto your desktop and then you will get an Audio+Video File, then you just drag the file into MPEG Streamclip. And the just follow the steps shown on the Video. Hope I Helped. Please Thumbs up so other people with the same problem can see.

I have a mac. Went to cnet and downloaded the mac version of mpeg stream clip. When I played the video I went to activity and found the YT as the MB file you described. However, when I double clicked it did not download. The YT just came up in another window to play. What am I doing wrong ?

I got MPEG streamclip and I copied the URL of my video but MPEG streamclip wouldn't let me paste the URL. How do you do it then??

Hmm I tried this but for some reason the video file wasn't an flv file so I couldn't put it in MPEG Streamclip. Does anyone know what I did wrong?

Thanks for the tutorial. I'm on OS 10.6.8. I've converted the FLV into both .aiff and .m4a and I can't get either into iTunes. It appears to get copied over with the .m4a but then I can't find it.

HURRAY ! It finally worked !  I didn't think it was downloaded, but it was there in my downloads. THANK YOU SO MUCH !! By the way, now that I have beaten my brains out doing this, someone else posted here that you can just copy the URL and drop it into stream clip. LOL If anyone is using a mac -- and especially Lion operating system, be sure to go to download.com a/k/a cnet and get their latest stream clip for mac which will work with lion. Also, I tried using the option before i double clicked in the activity window. It did not download. Anyone out there that can help ? THANK YOU FOR THIS YOUTUBE. I am not a guru so this is hard for me.
