Horowitz the whore witch is more like it. What harm was it to him if the land is put to productive use by someone? Oh I forgot. We are all supposed to die to save the elitists. I got it now and I'll be sure to walk right up to them and place the muzzle of their firearm to my head and say; here I am and do your job!
"A lie does not become truth by multiplied propagation." If truth meant ownership lets examine our American forefathers who stole this land from the natives who lived here. Perhaps Americas native people should return with bulldozers and smash our communities. As you say "when you come here you need to adapt"
The people never had title to this land. The city took it from Horowitz and didn't know what to do with it after the people destroyed their own community in '92. They said, "sure, build gardens, you destroy industry." The land is righfully Horowitz's and this behavior is ignorant. America is based on private ownership and when you come here, you need to adapt. Bucking the system will only perpetuate your impovershed condition. Why did you move to L.A.? Go to Nebraska if you want to farm.
is it wrong to work with your heart and hands to create something out of nothing? is it right to destroy what other humans have worked so hard to create? is legal ownership and the law the ultimate arbiter of morality?
There's absolutely nothing wrong with building something with your hands and creating something from nothing. The conduct of these people is what's wrong. Sure they had a good thing going but the land was stolen from its rightful owner so these people need to get a grip. It was foolish to think that a garden smack dab in the middle of the second largest city in America was gonna last forever and it was doubly foolish to riot.
They also use Caterpillar bulldozers to destroy the Palestinian farms and homes. And they also stand and watch with their guns and their arrogant smiles. Don't they proof time and time again how they lack compasion? Organize, my People; organize.
It was inflammatory not to have a final harvest; having bulldozers destroy the crop looks spiteful. The legal history of the land is discussed in the wikipedia under "south central farm", and this case is more about the rule of law than profit, greed, or conspiracies. If the community farmers, or the city of LA, were serious about making this garden permanent, they should have procured ownership first. I find it disheartening that opponents of the owner resorted to anti-Semitic taunts.

I don't even care if they're immigrants to the U.S...they're practically indigenous, my fellow caucasoid.
And they also stand and watch with their guns and their arrogant smiles.
