Detention Without Trial:
42 days detention without trial is the longest of any country in Europe. If there was a major event and the police were under great pressure to find culprits this is more than enough evidence to coerce a confession or even fake up evidence. If you think this can't happen, it has already, google the Guilford Four, that is only one example of many in British history.

I watched, with interest, your video posting and was impressed by the way you articulated your argument. However, up and down the country, the people I speak to (I work in Social Work), economics, 42 day detention, European treaties, ID cards are nowhere near any of the subjects people want to talk about. Your comments are aimed at people educated and experienced in those subjects but more attention to ordinary views and opinions would make it more relevant to ordinary people in the country

you're right people care more about other issues that touch them closer unfortunately I think these particular issues are very important indeed because it's important for the state to show the best example and standards not the worst

"kidnapping" someone for 42 days is illegal in most circumstances, why should the state have a carte blanche?
