YESSSS! :-D A very good rendition of Back from the dead merging into a simply gorgeous cover of Left Hand's Hired gun. My personal highlight of the night. :-) Filmed at the Berlin Festival on 07/08/2009.

  • Superb footage and looks an excellent performance , such an amazing talent can't wait to see him again at the barrowlands in September

  • @MrAlistairrobertson Thanks! And I am sooo jealous you'll get to see him at Barrowlands! I LOVED the last Barrowlands gig, but can't make it to Glasgow this time, woe. Have a great time!

  • amazing performance. he played for hundreds of people only with an acoustic guitar, without band or something else. Just Pete and his six strings.

  • oh - great you filmed Hired Gun. Was too perplexed to do it myself i guess LOL Looovely gig by Peter!!!

  • @acidfrog You're too kind. I'm just a listener/hobbyist- no expert . I just know what my tin ears tell me. Good to Pete's able to mask the dreaded peizo "quac k". I've seen live bands and even youtube clips of huge bands where their acoustic guitars sound so brittle. It drives me crazy. And a suppressor is essentially just a large beer coaster looking thing to cover the sound hole. I've seen bands duct tape over the f-holes in their hollowbody's so they can avoid feedback.

  • @comradevodka oh come on, even though you we're wrong, i was completely blown away by your knowledge&explenation..but i saw him live and the guitar really sounded very full & warm not "trembley", and if it had pickups you would SEE them, no?

but thanks anyway; i didn't even know there was such a thing called "feedback suppressor" ! (even though don't see it very clearly)..

  • @comradevodka

I take it back. It's a transducer. There's some other clips where he's playing the same guitar and it's more obvious.

  • @acidfrog

Considering how his recorded voice sounds- I imagine the guitar had more a trembley- less low end sound to the audience. If it IS a J-45 it'ssupposed to have a L.R. Baggs transducer. But it sounds like a single coil acoustic pickup to me- it's hard to tell since he has a feedback surpressor over the soundhole. Piezo's (which I'm not a fan of) don't normaly sound this forcefull and humbucker acoustic pickups don't normally sound like crisp.

  • i want that song!

  • I'm pretty sure this is a J-45. Wouldn't have a clue about the pickup though

  • hi, anyone knows what type of gibson pete uses here?

it sounds so good live, also does anyone have any idea what modifications were done on the guitar ( a pick-up or something)..thx, gear geeks let me know!!!
