High hopes for the new President of the Republic of China

On May 20th, Taiwan's new president Mr MA Ying-jeou announced his inauguration. Libin Xiao,a member of the Chinese Democratic Party Commission of Zhejiang Province, issued a 10,000-word open letter to Mr. Ma Yingjiu on the 18th of May and sent the high hopes to Mr Ma. The people from the mainland also expect that Mr MA Ying-jeou could promote the mainland's democracy.

STORY:
Libin Xiao, a member of the Zhejiang Commission of Chinese Democratic Party, congratulated Taiawan's new president Ma Ying-jeou and the vice president Xiao Wanchang sincerely in the name of a Chinese citizen. He also has high hopes that Tanwan's democratic experience can promote China's great cause of democracy.

[Libin Xiao, member of the Chinese Democratic Party]: (quote 1, male) "We sent our congratulations to Mr. Ma in his inauguration to be the new president. At the same time, we place the great hope in him that he could play a significant role in our great cause of demacracy in China. All I want to say is in the open letter. We've publicized all of it."

People from the mainland are also expecting that Mr Ma could contribute the democracy in Mainland China and promote the well-being of the people on both sides.

[People from the mainland]: (quote 2) "Our mainland compatriots are full of earnest hope that when Mr Ma took the office he could promote the mainland's democracy and human rights process."

People from the mainland also expressed that the KMT conformed to the trend of democracy and gained the great success of political reform which brought a good message for the people in mainland.


[People from the mainland]: (quote 3) "Since the people in Taiwan could achieve such a great success in building up democracy, it also told the Chinese Communist Party that democracy is not a horrible thing. Democracy could only bring vitality to both the people and the parties."

The open letter from Libin Xiao to Mr Ma Ying-jeou states that any dictatorial tyranny is a terrorist regime. It can only rely on the democratization of mainland China that the Commuinist Party's threat to Taiwan and the western countries could be finally eliminated.
