  • I am Canadian and don't pretend to know a lot about American politics. I was born in 1972 so the first American President I recall is Gerald Ford. Based on what I've learned he was quite a man. He was recruited by Nixon as Vice President when Nixon need an honest and intelligent Vice President and had to take over immediately when Nixon resigned . First Lady Ford was diagnosed with cancer during this time .. how did he do it? President ford was quite a man ...

  • @blinkzone1 - The US didn't lose a single battle and inflicted far greater casualties than suffered. South Vietnam lost the Vietnam War not the US. North Vietnam had indeed signed a peace agreement with the US to leave South Vietnam and maintain a demilitarized zone. The North signed this agreement, waited until the US had pulled almost all troops out of South Vietnam, and then attacked, and easily overtook the South.

  • mcgovern was a fucking mental patient

  • So very sad- Jezz.... worried about McGovern!?!?

I believe that if he came clean and the beginning- no cover up- and explained, said he did not direct the break in but accepted responsibility and apologized to the American people- the nation would have forgiven him and had a great 2d term. Sad- very sad.

  • It just goes to show you that the public opinion of a politician is almost completely worthless. Nixon was involved in a criminal activity (Watergate) and yet won by the biggest margin in American political history!.

  • Nixon didnt end Vietnam all of the American troops and P.O.W.s were sent back home. it was a "cut and run" strategy where America lost the war. South and North Vietnam would cont to fight on. Nixon made peace but while he was making peace talks he was also running nasty dirty tricks in his administration and of course his major downfall was Watergate. The American people were furious with Nixon because he was always lying on TV and covering things up.
