Host John Crispo interviews David Hatherton, CEO of Ontario based NextEnergy Inc. and Patrick Moore, Co-founder of Green Peace on the benefits fo Geothermal Energy.
#1...I live near an ethanol plant and it stinks, I,m sure the smoke stack coming from this type of operation is not the greatest over long term unless u can prove me wrong...secondly, according to this video i see a lot of disruption to land being cleared, ie trees removed, in order 4 polyethylene piping to b stuck in the ground, I think its simpler just to install solar panels on top of your house and leave the surrounding greenlands alone
Damage to the environment? Removing oil, gas and propane furnaces and replacing them with a renewable energy. How is this damaging to the environment? Solar is great unless it's powering the fan motor on an old oil furnace. Please explain your logic.
Why are they EXCAVATING the whole site when they've had trenching/laying technology for decades? They could lay this tubing in a trench like they do fiber optic. Oops, I just gave away a Million dollar idea...
interesting, but i can't believe people are still promoting slinky loops: there is a maximum tubing spacing density for the amount of available heat in the ground. overlapping the pipe in such a way exceeds that and only lessens the heat pumps efficiency. straight pipe runs are the only way to go.
I came darn close to putting in a ground based heat pumb in my last home - went conventional heat pump instead but still and still kick myself for not goig ground based - another 30%+ improvement in efficiency.
@vuetube It costs a heck of a lot less to rent an excavator for a day than using trenchless technology.
