his vioce was "gone" due to laryngitis. However, some stupid fans seemed to think that it was permanently gone and still think that. As you can see in this video he has recovered from his laryngitis and his vioce isn't just "back" it is better than it was before. Listen to his vioce in all the later 2007 and more recent 2008 shows and his voice is magic

so true! his voice has always been improving, from NB to diorama to now. proof: the performances of across the night in the great divide tour. he hit every note better than back in 03 and his voice is more powerful than ever.

you can't even see his face when he sings 'cloudy day' at the beginning, but you can just feel his smile. THAT is the beauty of their music.
