I was riding in a big leased vehicle with Marc Emery back in 2001 and he personally told me that he leased because he knew that he'd be taken down one day.
Emery has been betrayed in a treasonous manner by Harper's Conservatives.Emery fought to change the Sunday Shopping laws because like the anti-pot laws, they are basically religious in nature. Marc is fighting for each individual to have the freedoms promised to them in the Canadian Charter and in the American constitution.

He was facing 50+ years if he didn't take a deal. He isn't a sell out at all. He chose to accept the deal for his family and friends who still need him in the future. At least this way he will only serve a few years (most likely 2 or 3), and can keep pushing the cause once he is released.
Also, he has chosen to be a martyr for his cause. He took the heat, and helped his friends.
Marc Emery is a Canadian hero, and history will show it. Just wait.
