Andreas and John for Cromer http://andreasyiasimi.com Join face book page http://www.facebook.com/andreasforcromer Election Day is on 5th May. There are two reasons to vote on that day.
The first is to elect the two of us to represent Cromer on the District Council. We are both devoted to representing you. We have no personal or business (other) interests to influence how we would vote on issues concerning the town.
We have spent a lot of time in the past few weeks trying to meet as many of you as we can and hear your views. Our slogan is --
WE ASKED -- YOU SAID -- WE PROMISE
Although we both love the town and think it is a wonderful place to live, we have ideas about how all of our lives could be improved here. BUT if you elect us it is your needs and wishes we will represent, not our own.
We know that people are concerned about the coalition nationally and the impact it is already having, but we believe that we need to focus on our local community and the services which the District Council controls.
We want to help preserve the funding for the Arts, leisure services and events which support tourism to boost our local economy.
YOU said you want something done about the state of the roads and pavements around our town.
WE promise to press the Conservative County Council to take action.
YOU said you want the Bittern Line Railway Bridge on the Holt Road made safe for pedestrians.
WE promise we will do all we can to get action from the County Council on this.
YOU said there are several issues about traffic, jams at holiday times, pollution, on street parking and the Taxi rank in Tucker Street.
WE promise we will work to bring about improvements for you.
WE also promise that we will not only want to hear from you at Election time.
We will hold regular meetings with you throughout the year and always be available to LISTEN.
WE WILL ASK, LISTEN and DO.
By being elected to a Liberal Democrat run District Council we shall also strive to carry on with the policies of the last eight years, which have kept the authority debt free, while protecting jobs of front-line workers. We will also seek to continue investment such as the £700, 000 allocated for sports centres, support for the all weather pitch at Cromer High School, and the £1.4 million pounds to protect Cromer Pier.
Remember that the District Council gets 9 pence out of every £1 it collects in Council Tax from you. The rest goes to the Police Authority, but mostly to the Conservative led County Council. We think that our District Council does a pretty good job with the little it gets. We want to work to help make that good job even better for Cromer.
