Land based game fishing is all about angling skills. With the right techniques, even large fish can be easily landed from the rocks. Most fish are lost at the closing stages of the fight, cutting your line against the rocks or pulling hooks from too much pressure. Scott and Darren showcase some important techniques for securing your fish.

  • where is this? and how deep is it there?

  • @grailing05

Mouth of the Clarence River atYamba.

Longtail tuna will happily enter water that is only metres deep.

They are an inshore tuna species.

  • What bait were you using?

  • @machintruc313

Live baitfish caught from the same rocks. These were 'yakkas' or yellowtail, a fish about 9 inches long. Slimy mackerel would have been just as good.
