On June 23rd, 2011 we came across 4 killer whales who had killed and were eating an elephant seal. Within seconds of finding the orcas, the teenage male carted the carcass right over to our boat as if to show us what they had caught. While they were passing the carcass around amongst each other, they harassed two different fulmars- the light colored bird in the video. The young killer whales seemed to be practicing their aim on the poor little bird...
Our boat was in neutral for this entire encounter. Most often they kept the bird right next to our boat as you can see in some clips. Pretty amazing when wildlife involves you in their antics!
