The coral reef habitats and fish populations in the Dry Tortugas off of the coast of Florida have prospered recently due to the diligence of law enforcement officers. A key element of this success is the high-speed vessel "The Peter Gladding," which regularly intercepts fishing boats operating illegally in the protected waters.

Join host Matt Damon as the JOURNEY TO PLANET EARTH public television series continues with "The State of the Planet's Oceans" on PBS.

Award-winning filmmakers Hal and Marilyn Weiner investigate the health and sustainability of the worlds oceans and the issues affecting marine preserves, fisheries, and coastal ecosystems in the United States and worldwide.
