I laugh when people think torture doesn't work, they have this hollywood idea of the guy who won't 'break', and will just spread dis-info till he dies. Now imagine yourself being tortured, perhaps mutilated, you'd tell everything you ever knew in short order. Sure you get junk info in the mix, but in there will be the truth, almost every time. Note I'm not discussing the morality, just the efficacy.

Well this is actually a fallacy. John McCain god bless him finally broke after extreme torture for prolonged periods of time. He is an American hero, to an ineffable degree. Torture works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't but the point is that it's immoral and a violation of our covenant with GOD. They said water boarding worked. They didn't say it was instantaneous. As far as following orders go... I don't know what rules the CIA fall under, but in the military you can be held responsible if you knowingly follow a non-lawful order.

My personal opinion is: If I know the person the person in front of me has directly caused the death of innocent people and he has knowledge that can save the lives of more innocent people, then anything goes and I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.
