I think the worst imperialist actions committed in the past many decades, still has to be the CIA coups in Latin America, such as Chile 11/9 1973, or those in Indonesia, all during the cold war. But heck, they're as criminal now, as they were.

I'm an American, and against Communism in any form.
But the USSR was right when it mattered most.
The USSR fought the Nazis, opposed Mao Tse-Tung's dictatorship (a far bloodier regime than anything in the Soviet Union), supported Vietnam's liberation of Cambodia (from the Khmer Rouge), and fought my country's worst enemy, the Taliban.

+ Sometimes American's can be racist, ignorant bigots. While every culture has theirs, Soviets had much less of these people when they were against Afghanistan.

Afghanistan. Hard to believe its the same country now under NATO occupation. Of all the criminal actions capitalists have undertaken, what they have done to the Afghan people would have to be the worst or close to it.
