Petside.com's Dog-Park series continues. This week, host Sara Radle meets with a professional trainer to learn how to identify, prevent, and deal with dog park conflict. Find out what signs of aggression you should look out for. Also, learn when and how to step in to stop potential problems.
Also watch for what I dub the "freeze n' stares"... where a dog freezes while in close proximity (that is, inches) of the other dog, the tail wags become stiff, and the dog stares straight ahead at some part of the other dog's body, often with whites beginning to show around the eyes. This posture almost guarantees an imminent attack, and the staring dog is usually looking at the point where he intends to bite.
